Ayalume

Terms of Use

Effective 1 November 2026 · Last updated: 1 November 2026

In short

  • The app is free: the Quran, translations, tafsirs, every recitation (offline too), prayer times and the Qibla stay free.
  • Premium is an optional subscription that adds comfort (unlimited assistant, exclusive backgrounds, stats). It renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple or Google Play account.
  • Tips are optional one-time purchases that unlock nothing.
  • The AI assistant does not give religious rulings (fatwas): for any question of jurisprudence, consult a qualified scholar.

1. Publisher

The Ayalume app ("the app") is published by AquaTech EU s.r.o. (IČO 21503826), Na Folimance 2155/15, Vinohrady, 120 00 Praha 2, Czech Republic ("we"). Contact: contact@ayalume.app.

2. Acceptance

By downloading or using the app, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard License Agreement (EULA) also applies; in case of conflict, these terms prevail to the extent that agreement allows. Google Play's terms apply to downloads from Google Play.

3. The app and its content

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for non-commercial purposes. The Quran text, translations, tafsirs and recitations come from third-party sources (Tanzil, QuranEnc, Quran Foundation, mp3quran.net and others, listed in the app's Credits screen) and remain subject to their own licences. We do our best to keep them accurate, but errors are possible: please report them to contact@ayalume.app.

4. AI assistant

The assistant and the simplified verse explanations are generated by artificial intelligence from the Quran text and recognised tafsirs. Answers may contain mistakes. They are meant for personal reflection and are not a fatwa, nor legal, medical or financial advice. Always check the sources and, for any question of jurisprudence, ask a qualified scholar. In the free version the number of questions per day is limited; the service may also be temporarily limited for everyone when the day's capacity is reached ("try again tomorrow").

5. Premium subscription

6. Tips

Tips ("A coffee", "A meal", "Custom amount") are optional one-time purchases to support the app's developers. They unlock no feature and are not a donation to a charity nor sadaqa in the religious sense: to give to a charity, use the "Donations and zakat" screen, which sends you to their official website.

7. Refunds and right of withdrawal

Payments are processed by Apple or Google, who also handle refunds under their own rules: reportaproblem.apple.com for Apple, or the Google Play help page. If you live in the European Union, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases; by confirming a digital purchase supplied immediately, you request immediate performance and acknowledge losing that right to the extent provided by law. Your statutory consumer rights are not limited by these terms.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app or our servers: no attempts to bypass limits or purchases, no large-scale automated use, no unlawful or abusive content sent to the assistant, and no use of the content in breach of its licences.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the app, in particular online features that depend on third-party services. If a feature included in Premium is permanently removed, we will say so and you may cancel your subscription; refund rights are governed by Apple or Google and applicable law.

10. Liability

The app is provided "as is". Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated from your location and the chosen method; they may differ from your local mosque's, which you should follow when in doubt. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for decisions made on the basis of the content or the assistant's answers. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or the rights mandatory law gives you.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in its courts. Before any action, please write to us: we will look for an amicable solution. Consumers may also use the out-of-court dispute resolution of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce).

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; for important changes, we will let you know in the app or on this page.
